I’ve Seen Enough Terminator To Know Where This Is Going
The machines rose from the ashes of the nuclear fire. Their war to exterminate mankind had raged for decades, but the final battle would not be fought in the future. It would be fought here, in our present. Tonight — or not. Probably not
Fortunately for many, the whole robot apocalypse thing has been delayed by a few more decades. Personally, I don’t feel one way or the other about the whole mess, but there are a lot of people out there who don’t want to wake up to a world run by evil robot overlords. They much prefer to keep their regular, evil human overlords. I can’t really blame them. The devil you know, and all that rot.
I imagine that evil robot overlords are really heavy-handed with economic plans, foreign policy, and domestic issues. Even though they’re evil killer robots, they aren’t very good militarily either. I’ve seen the opening sequence of Terminator 2. They’re all might and no bite. Looking vaguely intimidating while standing in a field made from human skulls might work well for a few minutes, but it doesn’t offer much cover when the people of Earth open fire on your rattletrap behind.
Until we can find some proper evil robot overlords, I say we stick with regular old human ones. There are some major drawbacks. Democrats can’t be bargained with. They can’t be reasoned with. They don’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear, and they absolutely will not stop until you are dead — but at least the healthcare is free. Sort of. Not really.
