Interestingly, “The Homemade Russian Helicopters” Is The Name Of My Dave Clark Five Tribute Band. But I Digress
Because flying in aircraft made in a factory in Russia isn’t dangerous enough.

These are a bare bones, no frills helicopter kit made by a company called Clubrotor. Some of the parts are made in Romania. I’ve flown one and they aren’t as twitchy as you saw in the first part of the video – the old gentleman wasn’t used to that type of lift.
ok this from a guy who would consider building his own airplane.
bad idea. bad idea. bad idea. there is a reason they weren’t flying high…they know what they are doing. i mean, i understand the fun in it and all, but if the tail rotor stops turning you’re dead. the tail rotor on that first one was driven by two long bicycle chains looks like. what’s the life span on a two-cycle engine that the first one seemed to have? would you bet your life on it?
ahh well they are flying and i’m not so they can be sociopaths and we’ll celebrate them here.
There are some fittings my local plumbing supply needs to order – special to duplicate the flying machine.
God bless and protect those crazy Russians, I’m glad somebody has the bollocks to have a go.
