According to their website, Dorkbot is an organization founded “to create an informal, friendly environment in which people can talk about the work they’re doing and to foster discussion about that work; to help bring together people from different backgrounds who are interested in similar things; to give us all an opportunity to see the strange things our neighbors are doing with electricity.”
Hear, hear. I’ve heard there’s a movement afoot to pass legislation to require that the Tesla coils in their shows be replaced with 40 watt Compact Fluorescent Lightbulbs, and the music be replaced by Perry Como albums. The BSBFB stands proudly with all electricity dorks everywhere to keep electricity weird — and straightforward. Grab your sliderules, and to the barricades comrades!
