I’m not a big fan of racing. I’ve never been very invested in races of any kind. I’ve seen NASCAR, Formula 1, Hydroplane Racing, rally racing, horse racing, dog racing, snail racing, homeless people racing; you name it, I’ve seen it. None of those races ever had me on the edge of my seat. I usually can’t pay attention to them for more than a few minutes without immediately falling asleep, but this race is different. The moment I saw that red marble, I was hooked.

I’m not a gambler either, but this race was so intense that I was completely taken up in the moment. I paused the video, called up one of my friends, and asked him to come over. He’s always down for some shenanigans, so he was over faster than you could say Otorhinolaryngologist.

I asked him if he wanted to make a little wager, and he agreed because he’s an absolute madman. I put my money on the red marble, and he took the blue. If there was a tie, we’d fight to the death, or until one of us gets bored. Luckily, there was a very decisive finish to the race.

I lost ten grand.

It wasn’t until now that I realized I could’ve just watched the video and bet on the winning marble. Better luck next time, I guess.
